Causes
It is caused by chronic or acute inflammation of the mucous membrane of the nose due to viruses, bacteria or irritants.
The most common cause of rhinitis is cold. Other causes include

- Non-allergic – Smoke, air pollution, exhaust fumes, aerosol sprays, fragrance, paint fumes, certain medications etc.
