Coryza Symptoms
The inflammation of the mucus membranes in the nose causes
- The nose to turn red, tender, and swollen
- Large amounts of mucus discharge, typically resulting in the classic runny nose
- The eyes may water if the inflammation spreads
- Stuffy nose as the mucus blocks the nasal passages
- People lose their sense of smell and may feel lightheaded or dizzy
- Headache
- With or without fever
Prolonged coryza can be associated with a cough, as the mucus may drip down the throat and irritate the trachea and lungs. These symptoms are similar to that of a normal cold infection.
Coryza Causes
- Inhalation of droplets from infected people through cough and sneeze
- Cold weather and changing weather
- Low resistance due to fatigue, exhaustion, loss of sleep, stress, depression
- Unhygienic family practices
