Make certain lifestyle changes that prevent you from frequent migrane attacks. They include- Do not smoke
- Reduce stress
- Exercise regularly to be physically and mentally active
- Avoid the common triggers of migrane
- Avoid foods that cause migrane headaches
- Follow the headache treatment plan as suggested by the doctor
- Eat meals and snacks at about the same times every day, and get enough sleep at night
- Keeping a migraine diary is helpful
Watch Out
- Visual problems – you may see flashing lights, zigzag patterns or blind spots
- Stiffness or a tingling sensation like pins and needles in your neck, shoulders or limbs
When to See Doctor
Consult your doctor if you have- Sudden, severe headache different from past ones
- Sudden numbness, tingling, weakness, or loss of movement in your face, arm, or leg, especially on only one side of your body.
- Vision changes
- Trouble speaking
- Problems with walking or balance
