Sit in a comfortable chair and focus your eyes on any object to your right and 5 to 15 feet away from you, then change your focus to another object to your left, the same distance away. Now, without moving your head shift your focus back and forth between the two objects as quickly as possible. Continue this for a two minute period.

After this set of exercises, do basically the same thing, but focusing on objects above and below your field of vision, for a two minute period.

Repeat these two exercises as often as you remember.

Try to choose a seat where you will experience the least motion.

Sit in the front seat of a car.

Open a vent or source of fresh air if possible.

Keep your head still, while resting against a seat back.

Drink plenty of water.

Focus on the horizon or on a distant, stationary object. Do not read.

By chewing gum you can get relief from common and mild car sickness.
- Practice acupressure- Apply gentle pressure on your forearm (between the two tendons) about 3cm (about an inch) or so back from the wrist joint. This temporarily delays nausea. You can also use wrist bands for this.
