What is Pediatric Dengue Fever?

Dengue fever is a tropical disease caused by a virus carried by mosquitoes. The virus can cause fever, headaches, rashes, and body pain. Most cases of dengue fever are mild. However once diagnosed with dengue fever, patient should be monitored daily by a blood test for platelets.

Recovery Time

Most cases of dengue fever are mild; they go away within a week or two. Once kids have had the illness, they become immune to that particular type of the virus.
