Overview
ALDACTIDE TAB is a Schedule H drug.ALDACTIDE TAB is composed of: HYDROFLUMETHIAZIDE (25 MG), SPIRONOLACTONE (25 MG)
Hydroflumethiazide is a thiazide diuretic. It lowers blood pressure and fluid retention in edema by removing the extra water and certain electrolytes from the body. Over time it also works by relaxing blood vessels and improving blood flow. Hydroflumethiazide is used in high blood pressure and edema. It treats edema (fluid overload) associated with heart, liver, kidney or lung disease.
Spironolactone is a potassium-sparing diuretic (water pill) that prevents your body from absorbing too much salt and keeps your potassium levels from getting too low. Spironolactone is used to treat heart failure, high blood pressure (hypertension), or hypokalemia (low potassium levels in the blood)
Spironolactone is also used to diagnose or treat a condition in which you have too much aldosterone in your body. Aldosterone is a hormone produced by your adrenal glands to help regulate the salt and water balance in your body.
