Edaravone works by relieving the effects of oxidative stress, which may be related to the death of motor neurons (nerve cells) in people with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Keeping motor neurons healthy may help to preserve muscle function.Edaravone is used to treat amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.Edaravone is a nerve protecting medicine. It works on the brain by nourishing the nerve cells, protects them from damage and improves their survival.

Precautions for ARAVON INJ and its Constituents


  • Edavarone is not recommended for use in children.
  • Caution should be taken while administering edavarone to the elderly, patients with infections or severe disturbance of consciousness or respiration.Tell your doctor if you are suffering from renal, liver or cardiac disease.
  • Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
  • Do not take if allergic to edaravone or any of its ingredients.
  • Do not take if suffering from severe kidney dysfunction.
  • This medicine must be given slowly and the IV infusion can take at least 60 minutes to complete
  • Follow your doctor’s instructions about any restrictions on food, beverages, or activity.
  • It should be used with caution in asthmatic patients as it contains sodium bisulfite, and asthmatic patients often exhibit sulfite sensitivity

EDARAVONE : Glycosuria, Skin Rash, Blood Pressure, Low, Head Headache, Body Difficulty Walking, Body Bruising, Difficulty Breathing

EDARAVONE : Hives, Skin Rash, Itchy Skin, Dry Skin, Skin Irritation, Chest Pain, Cough, Confusion, Dizziness, Rapid Heart Rate (pulse), Weakness (generalized), Genitals Itching, Head Headache
