Overview

ASPITRATE TAB is a Schedule H drug.

ASPITRATE TAB is composed of: ASPIRIN (150 MG), ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE (30 MG)

Aspirin is used to treat pain, reduce fever and inflammation. It also acts as antiplatelet (antithrombotic) agent in low doses to prevent heart attack, strokes and angina ( chest pain).

Isosorbide Dinitrate is a nitrate. It works by relaxing the blood vessels which decreases the oxygen demand of the heart and reduces its workload. It thus prevents/treats attacks of angina (chest pain).

Precautions for ASPITRATE TAB and its Constituents


Aspirin should be avoided if your allergic to it, or if you have any bleeding disorder (hemophilia).
Consult your Doctor or Pharmacist if you have any asthma, seasonal allergies, stomach ulcers,  impaired renal or hepatic disorders, bleeding or blood clotting disorder, gout, heart disease, high blood pressure, congestive heart failure.

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of anemia, dehydration, heart disease, low blood pressure, liver impairment, lupus, overactive thyroid, head injury, recent heart attack, any allergy, who are taking other medications, elderly, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It may cause dizziness or lightheadedness, do not drive a car or operate machinery and get up slowly from bed while taking this medication. Avoid alcohol consumption.

Symptoms of Overdosage

ASPIRIN over-dosage can result in: Skin Irritation
ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE over-dosage can result in: Head Headache, Fever, Confusion, Dizziness, Rapid Heart Rate (pulse), Nausea, Vomit, Abdomen Pain, Bloody Or Red Colored Stools, Difficulty Breathing, Fainting, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs)

Common Side-Effects

ASPIRIN : Constipation, Diarrhoea, Indigestion, Seizure, Abdomen Upset Stomach, Drowsiness, Head Headache, Heartburn, Vomit, Nausea, Hallucinations, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs), Confusion, Ringing In Ears

Serious Side-Effects

ASPIRIN : Tinnitus, Rhinitis, Urticaria, Bronchospasm Cough, Gastrointestinal Bleeding

Rare Side-Effects

ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE : Throat Soreness, Pale Skin, Dark Colored (brown) Urine, Easy Bruising, Fatigue (tiredness), Weakness (generalized)

ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE can interfere with: Myocardial Infarction, Congestive Heart Disease, Anemia, Hypotension, Diarrhoea, Cerebrovascular Insufficeincy, Shock, Pericarditis, Aortic Valve Stenosis, Brain Tumor, Intracranial Hematoma, Benign Intracranial Hypertension, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, Glaucoma
