ATEN D TAB is composed of: ATENOLOL (50 MG), INDAPAMIDE (2.5 MG)

Atenolol is a beta-blocker that affects the heart and circulation (blood flow through arteries and veins). Atenolol is used to treat angina (chest pain) and hypertension (high blood pressurre).
Indapamide is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps prevent your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention. Indapamide treats fluid retention (edema) in people with congestive heart failure. This medicine is also used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).

How Do I Take It?

ATEN D TAB is generally taken With Food.

Precautions for ATEN D TAB and its Constituents


  • Take the tablet with water.
  • Taking the drug after meal is advisable to reduce chances of stomach upset.  However, the drug can be taken empty stomach.
  • Never stop taking the drug without consulting your prescribing doctor.  Abrupt cessation may cause severe health problems.


Caution should be exercised in patients with history of abnormal heart rhythm, diabetes, gout, kidney, liver, thyroid or parathyroid disease, any allergy, who are taking other medications, elderly, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It may cause dizziness or drowsiness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. Avoid alcohol consumption. It may affect blood electrolyte level with the following symptoms: decreased urination, dry mouth, fainting, fast or irregular heartbeat, increased thirst, muscle pain, weakness, cramping or restlessness. If it is so consult with your doctor. Avoid exposure to sunlight; otherwise it may cause sunburn. Monitor blood sugar, blood electrolyte, glucose, uric acid levels and kidney function regularly while taking this medication.

ATENOLOL over-dosage can result in: Slow Heart Rate (pulse), Shortness Of Breath, Fainting
INDAPAMIDE over-dosage can result in: Vomit, Weakness (generalized), Dizziness, Dry Mouth, Increased Thirst, Body Muscle Cramps Or Spasms (painful)
