Ampicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that fights bacteria. Ampicillin is used to treat or prevent many different types of infections such as bladder infections, pneumonia, gonorrhea, meningitis, or infections of the stomach or intestines.

Dicloxacillin is a penicillin antibiotic that fights bacteria in your body. Dicloxacillin is used to treat many different types of infections caused by bacteria such as bronchitis, pneumonia, or staphylococcal infections.

How Do I Take It?

BICLOX D CAP is generally taken Before Food.

Precautions for BICLOX D CAP and its Constituents


Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Take this medicine with a full glass of water. Take ampicillin on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after a meal.
Caution should be exercised in patients with history of kidney or liver disease, any allergy, asthma, blood disease, intestinal inflammation, stomach problems, hay fever, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Avoid long-term or repeated use of this medication; otherwise it may cause secondary infection.

Symptoms of Overdosage

DICLOXACILLIN over-dosage can result in: Difficulty Breathing

AMPICILLIN : Diarrhoea, Nausea, Vomit, Mouth Soreness
DICLOXACILLIN : Fever, Arms Joint Pain, Abdomen Pain, Nausea, Vomit, Loose Motion

AMPICILLIN : Skin Rash, Dark Colored (brown) Urine, Eyes Yellow Eyes, Easy Bruising, Throat Soreness, Fever, Abdomen Stomach Cramps, Bloody Or Red Colored Stools

DICLOXACILLIN can interfere with: Neutropenia, Thrombocytopenia, Colitis, Cystic Fibrosis, Hypernatremia, Hypertension, Congestive Heart Disease
