BRIMOLOL 5MG/1.5MG EYE DPS is a Schedule H drug.BRIMOLOL 5MG/1.5MG EYE DPS is composed of: TIMOLOL (5.0 MG), BRIMONIDINE (1.5 MG)
Timolol is a beta-blocker that affects the heart and circulation Timolol is sometimes given with other blood pressure medication.It works by relaxing blood vessels and slowing heart rate. It works by blocking the action of certain natural chemicals in your body such as epinephrine on the heart and blood vessels.
Brimonidine belongs to a group of drugs called alpha adrenergic agonists. The eye drops work by decreasing the amount of fluid produced in the eyes. The gel form works by reducing the amount of blood flow to the facial area. Decreasing blood flow may reduce overall redness associated with rosacea. Brimonidine ophthalmic (for the eyes) is used to treat open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension (high pressure inside the eye).

Precautions for BRIMOLOL 5MG/1.5MG EYE DPS and its Constituents
- You should not use timolol if you have asthma or other breathing disorders, or a serious heart condition such as heart failure or COPD.
- You should not use timolol if you are allergic to it.
- Follow all directions on your prescription label. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results.
- Do not use timolol in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.Your blood pressure will need to be checked often.
- You should not stop using timolol suddenly. Stopping suddenly may make your condition worse.
- If you are taking timolol to prevent migraine headaches: It may take 6 to 8 weeks of daily use before timolol is fully effective.
- Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.It may cause drowsiness or dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
- It may affect blood sugar level, monitor sugar level regularly.
- Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of blood circulation disorders (cerebral or coronary insufficiency), heart disease, depression, Raynaud’s disease, low blood pressure upon standing (orthostatic hypotension), a certain immune system disorder (Sjogren’s syndrome), a certain skin/connective tissue disease (scleroderma).
- Avoid certain triggers that may worsen rosacea such as wind, hot beverages, spicy foods, alcohol, and extreme cold. Discuss with your doctor.
- Sun exposure can worsen rosacea. Limit exposure to the sun by wearing a wide-brimmed hat and using a sunscreen that is SPF 15 or greater.
- Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products).
- During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
- It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
