Overview
CECORT OINT is a Schedule H antibiotic.CECORT OINT is composed of: CHLORAMPHENICOL ( ), HYDROCORTISONE ( )
Chloramphenicol is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is used to treat certain types of serious infections caused by bacteria when other antibiotics cannot be used.Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins, required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.
Hydrocortisone is a topical steroid that reduces the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation. Hydrocortisone topical is used to treat inflammation of the skin caused by a number of conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, or psoriasis. Hydrocortisone topical will not treat skin infections. This medication is a corticosteroid, prescribed for severe allergies, arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis and skin conditions. It is also used to treat certain types of cancer.

How Do I Take It?
CECORT OINT is generally taken Before Food.Precautions for CECORT OINT and its Constituents
- Always take the complete course of treatment, as advised by your doctor even if you feel better.
- Antibiotics will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.
- Never take an antibiotic for a viral infection like a cold or the flu.
- If your symptoms do not improve within a few days, or if they become worse, check with your doctor.
Caution should be exercised in patients with history of liver, kidney, intestinal, or heart disease, diabetes, underactive thyroid gland, high blood pressure, mental illness, myasthenia gravis, osteoporosis, herpes eye infection, seizures, tuberculosis (TB), ulcers, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
