Overview
CLEARCLAV PLUS TAB is a Schedule H antibiotic.CLEARCLAV PLUS TAB is composed of: CEFPODOXIME PROXETIL (200 MG), POTASSIUM CLAVULANATE (125 MG)
Cefpodoxime is a cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by fighting bacteria in your body.Cefpodoxime is used to treat infections caused by bacteria, including upper respiratory infections, ear infections, skin infections, and urinary tract infections.It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering which is needed for them to survive.This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections.
Usage
CEFPODOXIME PROXETIL is generally used to treat: Bacterial Infection, Urinary Tract Infection, Upper Respiratory Tract Infections, Pneumonia, Bronchitis, Ear Infection, Middle EarCEFPODOXIME PROXETIL can address symptoms like: Fever, Cough, Sneezing, Vomit, Fatigue (tiredness), Body Muscle Cramps Or Spasms (painful)

Precautions for CLEARCLAV PLUS TAB and its Constituents
- You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to cefpodoxime or to other cephalosporin antibiotics.
- Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not take cefpodoxime in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
- The cefpodoxime tablet should be taken with food.
- Cefpodoxime oral suspension can be taken with or without food.
- Shake the liquid well just before you measure a dose. Measure liquid medicine with the dosing syringe provided, or with a special dose-measuring spoon or medicine cup. If you do not have a dose-measuring device, ask your pharmacist for one.
- Store the liquid medicine in a tightly-closed bottle in the refrigerator. Do not freeze. Throw away any unused liquid after 14 days.
- Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
- Antibiotic medicines can cause diarrhea, which may be a sign of a new infection. If you have diarrhea that is watery or bloody, call your doctor.
- Do not use anti-diarrhea medicine unless your doctor tells you to.
- Ask your doctor before using an antacid, and use only the type your doctor recommends. Some antacids can make it harder for your body to absorb cefpodoxime.If you’re on blood thinners, Cefpodoxime can interact with your medications and increase your bleeding tendencies.
- This medication may cause live bacterial vaccines to not work as well. Do not have any immunizations/vaccinations while using this medication.
