DIM KID 100MG/400MG/20MG TAB is composed of: METRONIDAZOLE (400.0 MG), FURAZOLIDONE (100.0 MG), DICYCLOMINE (20.0 MG)

Metronidazole is an antibiotic. It kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Metronidazole is used in the treatment of bacterial infections and parasitic infections. It is used in infections of the brain, reproductive system, gastrointestinal tract, skin, vagina, and other areas of the body.

Furazolidone is used to treat bacterial and protozoal infections. It works by killing bacteria and protozoa. Some protozoa are parasites that can cause many different kinds of infections in the body. Furazolidone is taken by mouth. It works inside the intestinal tract to treat cholera, colitis, and diarrhea caused by bacteria, and giardiasis. Furazolidone is available only with your doctor’s prescription.
Dicyclomine relieves spasms of the muscles in the stomach and intestines. Dicyclomine is used to treat functional bowel or irritable bowel syndrome. Dicyclomine is used in the treatment of abdominal pain.Dicyclomine works by relaxing the muscles in your stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms). In doing this, it relieves cramps, pain, bloating,   and discomfort.Dicyclomine is a prescription medication used to treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). This medication belongs to a group of drugs called anticholinergic agents. It relieves intestinal spasms by blocking muscarinic receptors in the digestive tract.

Precautions for DIM KID 100MG/400MG/20MG TAB and its Constituents


Caution should be exercised in patients with history of nerve, brain, Crohn�s disease, liver impairment, seizures, heart disease, any allergy, who are taking other medications, elderly, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It may cause dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. Avoid alcohol consumption. Avoid long-term use of this medication; otherwise it may cause secondary infection.



  • Before using this drug, tell your doctor your medical history, especially of blood disorders (G6PD deficiency), allergies (especially drug allergies).
  • Avoid intake of alcohol during therapy and for 4 days after taking this medication. A reaction causing flushing, fever, chest tightness and breathing difficulties may occur.
  • Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this medication makes you feel dizzy.
  • Infants less than one month old should not receive this drug.
  • This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
  • It is not known if this medication appears in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.


  •  This medication may impair your thinking or alertness. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert.
  •  Avoid becoming overheated or dehydrated during exercise and in hot weather. Dicyclomine can decrease your sweating, which can lead to heat stroke in a hot environment.
  •  Avoid taking alcohol as it can increase certain side effects of dicyclomine.
  • Stop using dicyclomine and call your doctor right away if you have serious side effects such as confusion, hallucinations, unusual thoughts or behavior, fast or uneven heart rate, or if you urinate less than usual or not at all.
  • You should not take this medication if you are allergic to dicyclomineTake exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Do not take in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label.Dicyclomine is usually taken 4 times each day. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results.Take this medicine with a full glass of water.
