Cefadroxil is in a group of drugs called cephalosporin antibiotics. It works by fighting bacteria in your body.Cefadroxil is used to treat many different types of infections caused by bacteria.Cefadroxil is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is used for short-term treatment of bacterial infections of urinary tract, skin and soft-tissue, blood, abdomen, genital and lungs (pneumonia). It is also used to prevent infections after surgery. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body.
Probenecid helps your body pass uric acid out through the urine, which lowers the levels of uric acid in the body. Probenecid is used to treat gout and gouty arthritis. Probenecid is also sometimes given together with penicillin antibiotics to make them more effective.

How Do I Take It?
DISTACLOR PD DPS is generally taken With Food.Precautions for DISTACLOR PD DPS and its Constituents
- Your doctor has prescribed Cefadroxil to cure your infection and improve symptoms.
- Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
- Discontinue Cefadroxil and inform your doctor immediately if you get a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or have difficulty in breathing.Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it doesn’t stop or if you find blood in your stools.
- If you’re on blood thinners, Cefadroxil can interact with your medications and increase your bleeding tendencies.
- Do not take this medication if you are allergic to cefadroxil, or to similar antibiotics, such as Ceftin, Cefzil, Keflex, Omnicef, and others.
- The cefadroxil suspension (liquid) contains sucrose. Talk to your doctor before using this form of cefadroxil if you have diabetes.Take this medication exactly as it was prescribed for you.
- Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor.
- Follow the directions on your prescription label.Take this medicine with a full glass of water.Cefadroxil can be taken on an empty stomach or with food or milk if it causes stomach upset.
