Estradiol is used to treat menopause symptoms such as hot flashes and vaginal changes, and to prevent osteoporosis (bone loss) in menopausal women. Estradiol is used for hormone replacement therapy, post menopausal osteoporosis and contraception.Estradiol is a form of estrogen, a female sex hormone produced by the ovaries. It acts by replacing the natural hormone in the body when the latter is deficient. Estradiol is a prescription medication used to treat symptoms of menopause including hot flashes and vaginal dryness. It is also used to treat conditions in which a woman’s ovaries do not produce enough estrogen naturally (hypoestrogenism).Estradiol is a form of the hormone estrogen. It replaces estrogen that is not naturally produced by the ovaries.

How Do I Take It?
E2 GEL GEL is generally taken After Food.Precautions for E2 GEL GEL and its Constituents
- The drug can cause nausea, vomitting or breast tenderness.
- Do not use estradiol patches over breast stop taking estradiol and see a doctor immediately if you notice any of the following when taking estradiol:
- yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes (jaundice). rise in your blood pressure (symptoms may be headache, tiredness, dizziness). new onset migraine-like headaches.
- signs of a blood clot, such as: painful swelling and redness of the legs, sudden chest pain, difficulty in breathing.
- Do not consider estradiol alone as a contraceptive. It must be used with progestogen to provide contraceptive benefits.
- Consult your doctor if you have unusual vaginal bleeding while taking this drug, Immediately consult your doctor if you notice unexplained swelling and pain in your limbs, shortness of breath, chest pain, severe headache, or changes in vision. This medicine should not be taken for a very long period.
- Consult your doctor from time to time to check if you still need it.
- You should not use estradiol if you have: undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, liver disease, a bleeding disorder, if you have major surgery, or if you have ever had a heart attack, a stroke, a blood clot, or cancer of the breast, uterus/cervix, or vagina.
- Do not use estradiol if you are pregnant.
- You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to estradiolEstradiol should not be used to prevent heart disease, stroke, or dementia, because this medicine may actually increase your risk of developing these conditions.
- Take estradiol exactly as it was prescribed for you.
- Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not take this medicine in larger amounts or for longer than recommended.Avoid smoking. It can greatly increase your risk of blood clots, stroke, or heart attack while using this medicine.
- Grapefruit and grapefruit juice may interact with estradiol and lead to unwanted side effects. Avoid the use of grapefruit products.
