ERYPED SUSP is a Schedule H1 antibiotic.ERYPED SUSP is composed of: ERYTHROMYCIN STEARATE (200 MG)
Erythromycin is used in the treatment of bacterial infections.Erythromycin is an antibiotic. It works by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Thus, it stops the bacteria from growing, and prevents the infection from spreading.
This antibiotic treats or prevents only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections.Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections.

Precautions for ERYPED SUSP and its Constituents
- You should not use erythromycin if you are allergic to it.
- Take erythromycin exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets.
- Your doctor may occasionally change your dose. Use the medicine exactly as directed.
- Erythromycin injection is given as an infusion into a vein, for a severe infection.Shake the oral suspension before you measure a dose. Use the dosing syringe provided, or use a medicine dose-measuring device (not a kitchen spoon).
- You must chew the chewable tablet before you swallow it.
- Do not crush, chew, or break a delayed-release capsule or tablet. Swallow it whole.
- Use this medicine for the full prescribed length of time, even if your symptoms quickly improve.
- Do not use two doses at one time.
- Antibiotic medicines can cause diarrhea, which may be a sign of a new infection. If you have diarrhea that is watery or bloody, call your doctor before using anti-diarrhea medicine.
- Avoid long-term use of this medication; otherwise it may cause secondary infection.
- Monitor liver function, kidney function and complete blood cell counts regularly while taking this medication.
- You should take oral dosages on an empty stomach.
- It may cause an upset stomach. If this happens to you, take it with food.
- Do not take antacids 2 hours before or after taking Erythromycin.
- Erythromycin may cause live bacterial vaccines to not work as well. Do not have any immunizations/vaccinations while using this medication.
