Drotaverine is a anti spasmolytic drug used to relive spasmodic pains. It is used in conditions of smooth muscle spasm, peptic ulcer, spastic constipation, control and prevention of pain and dysfunction due to smooth muscle spasms.
This medication is a hemostatic agent, prescribed for the management of blood loss in menorrhagia, and after surgery. It reduces bleeding from very small blood vessels (capillaries).

Precautions for ETHAMAX TD TAB and its Constituents


  • Caution should be exercised in patients with heart/liver/kidney disease, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • Take drotaverine tablets 20 minutes before a meal to relieve or reduce post meal symptoms.
  • Consult your doctor before you start drotaverine if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
  • Stop taking drotaverine and consult a doctor, if experience severe allergic reactions.
  • Due to possible side effects such as dizziness and vertigo resulting from hypotension, you should avoid driving or using machines.

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of coeliac disease, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Avoid excess dosage.
