Gefitinib is used to treat non-small cell lung cancer. Gefitinib is a cancer medication that interferes with the growth and spread of cancer cells in the body. Gefitinib belongs to a group of drugs called epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors.

Precautions for GCOM 0.3%/4% EYE DPS and its Constituents
- Before using this medication, ask your doctor or pharmacist about your medical history, especially of lung disease, severe kidney disease, eye problems, stomach/intestinal ulcers, other stomach/intestinal problems, smoking, cancer that has spread to the bowels.
- Do not take gefitinib if you are allergic to any of its ingredients.
- Before starting gefitinib treatment, make sure you tell your doctor about any other medications you are taking (including prescription, over-the-counter, vitamins, herbal remedies, etc.). Do not take aspirin, or products containing aspirin unless your doctor specifically permits this.
- Do not receive any kind of immunization or vaccination without your doctor’s approval while taking gefitinib.
- For both men and women: Do not conceive a child (get pregnant) while taking gefitinib. Barrier methods of contraception, such as condoms, are recommended. Discuss with your doctor when you may safely become pregnant or conceive a child after therapy.
