INVANZ 1GM INJ is a Schedule H1 antibiotic.INVANZ 1GM INJ is composed of: ERTAPENEM (1 GM)
Ertapenem is an antibiotic that fights bacteria.Ertapenem is used to treat severe infections of the skin, lungs, stomach, pelvis, and urinary tract. It is also used to prevent infection in people having certain types of surgeryErtapenem is used in serious bacterial infections and prevention of infection after surgery of the colon or rectum. It is used in infections of various body parts like skin and soft tissues, urinary tract, blood, brain and lungs (pneumonia).Ertapenem is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming their own protective covering which is required for their survival in the human body.

How Do I Take It?
INVANZ 1GM INJ is generally taken After Food.Precautions for INVANZ 1GM INJ and its Constituents
- Do not start ertapenem, if you are allergic to ertapenem, or to any of the other ingredients in ertapenem tablets, or other antibiotics such as penicillins, cephalosporins or carbapenems.
- Do not take ertapenem, if you have developed diarrhea just before or after taking ertapenem. Doctor’s advice should be considered in case of patients with following history of disease conditions: kidney disease (especially if you are receiving dialysis treatments), localized tremors, or fits; high blood pressure or other diseases.
- Avoid using ertapenem, if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breast-feeding.You should not inject ertapenem into a muscle if you are allergic to a numbing medicine such as lidocaine or Novocain.
- Long-term or repeated use of this medication may cause a second infection.
