Acetylcysteine inhalation is also used during surgery or anesthesia, and to prepare the throat or lungs for a medical test.Acetylcysteine is used as mucolytic and paracetamol toxicity. It acts as mucolytic (loosen mucus in airways) when used in oral preparations while when used as injection it treats paracetamol overdose toxicity. It thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) making it easier to cough out.
