L DOM CAP is composed of: DOMPERIDONE ( ), LANSOPRAZOLE ( )

Domperidone is an anti dopaminergic agent. It is used in treating nausea,vomiting,Gastrointestinal probelms and Parkinsons disease.

Lansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor. Lansoprazole decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach. Lansoprazole is used to treat and prevent stomach and intestinal ulcers, erosive esophagitis (damage to the esophagus from stomach acid), and other conditions involving excessive stomach acid such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Over-the-counter lansoprazole (Prevacid OTC) is used to treat frequent heartburn that happens 2 or more days per week.

How Do I Take It?

L DOM CAP is generally taken Before Food.

Precautions for L DOM CAP and its Constituents

Cautions should be exercised in the patients with the history of kidney or liver disease, Breast cancer,Bowel blockage and any allergic reactions

While taking sucralfate (Carafate), take it at least 30 minutes after lansoprazole. It may affect liver function. Gastric malignancy should be ruled out. Caution should be exercised in patients with osteoporosis, liver problem, bowel cancer, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Symptoms of Overdosage

DOMPERIDONE over-dosage can result in: Dizziness, Confusion, Drowsiness, Irregular Heartbeat, Difficulty Breathing
LANSOPRAZOLE over-dosage can result in: Difficulty Breathing

DOMPERIDONE : Headache, Breast Pain, Mouth Swelling
LANSOPRAZOLE : Diarrhoea, Skin Rash, Decreased Appetite, Arms Joint Pain, Nausea, Abdomen Pain, Vomit, Body Itching

Serious Side-Effects

DOMPERIDONE : Chest Pain, Irregular Heartbeat, Dizziness, Fainting, Loss Of Balance
LANSOPRAZOLE : Lupus, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs), Body Muscle Cramps Or Spasms (painful), Arms Joint Pain

DOMPERIDONE : Constipation, Diarrhoea, Leg Cramps, Rapid Heart Rate (pulse), Face Swelling, Hands Swelling, Legs Swelling
LANSOPRAZOLE : Depression, Anxiety, Constipation, Cough, Depressed Mood, Body Muscle Cramps Or Spasms (painful), Easy Bruising

Food Interactions

Grape fruit juice should be avoided while taking domperidone
