Mebendazole is an anthelmintic or anti-worm medication. It prevents newly hatched insect larvae (worms) from growing or multiplying in your body. Mebendazole is used to treat infections caused by worms such as whipworm, pinworm, roundworm, and hookworm. It is also used to treat infections caused by more than one of these worms at the same time.

It may lead to liver damage, may cause skin, nose and vaginal dryness, may affect other organs of the body, including the kidneys, blood vessels, lungs, liver, pancreas, and brain(Sjogren’s syndrome). Avoid changing dosage without consulting with healthcare providers.
Caution should be exercised in patients with history of worm infection, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Avoid long-term use of this medication. Avoid contact with people who have infections.
