LOETTE TAB is a Schedule H drug.LOETTE TAB is composed of: LEVONORGESTREL (1 MG), ESTRADIOL (0.2 MG)
Levonorgestrel is a female hormone that can cause changes in your cervix, making it harder for sperm to reach the uterus and harder for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus. Levonorgestrel intrauterine system is a plastic device that is placed in the uterus where it slowly releases the hormone to prevent pregnancy for 3 to 5 years.It works to prevent pregnancy by temporarily stopping the release of an egg from the ovary, or preventing fertilization of the egg by sperm. It may also alter the lining of the uterus (womb) to stop a fertilized egg from attaching to the uterus.
Estradiol is a form of estrogen, a female sex hormone that regulates many processes in the body.Estradiol is used to treat menopause symptoms such as hot flashes and vaginal changes, and to prevent osteoporosis (bone loss) in menopausal women.Estradiol is used for hormone replacement therapy and post menopausal osteoporosis.Estradiol is a form of estrogen, a female sex hormone produced by the ovaries. It acts by replacing the natural hormone in the body when the latter is deficient.

Precautions for LOETTE TAB and its Constituents
- You should not use levonorgestrel if you are allergic to it.
- Do not use this medicine if you are already pregnant.
- Ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking levonorgestrel if you regularly use medication for seizures, tuberculosis, or HIV/AIDS.
- Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor.
- Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
- Do not take a second dose without first asking your doctor.
- Visit your doctor within 3 weeks after taking levonorgestrel emergency contraceptive. A doctor should confirm that you are not pregnant, and that this medicine has not caused any harmful effects.
- If your period is late by 1 week or longer after the expected date, you may be pregnant. Get a pregnancy test and contact your doctor if you are pregnant.
- Do not take more than one tablet at the same time.
- Levonorgestrel emergency contraceptive will not protect you from sexually transmitted diseases–including HIV and AIDS.
- Using a condom is the only way to protect yourself from these diseases. Avoid having unprotected sex.Take as soon as possible, preferably within 12 hours and not later than 72 hours (3 days) of having unprotected sex or contraceptive failure.
- Notify your doctor if you vomit within 2 hours of taking Levonorgestrel.
- Do not use estradiol patches over breast stop taking estradiol and see a doctor immediately if you notice any of the following when taking estradiol:
- yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes (jaundice). rise in your blood pressure (symptoms may be headache, tiredness, dizziness).new onset migraine-like headaches.
- signs of a blood clot, such as: painful swelling and redness of the legs, sudden chest pain, difficulty in breathing.
- Do not consider estradiol alone as a contraceptive. It must be used with progestogen to provide contraceptive benefits.
- Consult your doctor if you have unusual vaginal bleeding while taking this drug, Immediately consult your doctor if you notice unexplained swelling and pain in your limbs, shortness of breath, chest pain, severe headache, or changes in vision. This medicine should not be taken for a very long period.Consult your doctor from time to time to check if you still need it.
- Do not smoke or use tobacco. Estrogens combined with smoking further increases your risk of stroke, blood clots, high blood pressure, and heart attack, especially in women older than 35.
- Avoid tanning booths and sunlamps. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors.If you are nearsighted or wear contact lenses, you may develop vision problems or trouble wearing your contact lenses.
