Calcium is a mineral that is needed for many functions of the body, especially bone formation and maintenance. Calcium can also bind to other minerals such as phosphate, and aid in their removal from the body.Calcium acetate is a natural mineral that works by holding onto phosphate from the diet so that it can pass out of your body,used to treat elevated blood phosphate levels in end stage kidney failure.
Carbonyl iron is an iron replacement product. You normally get iron from the foods you eat. Iron helps your body produce red blood cells that carry oxygen through your blood to tissues and organs.Iron is an important mineral that the body needs to produce red blood cells and keep you in good health.

How Do I Take It?
MAXIPRO PWD is generally taken With Food.Precautions for MAXIPRO PWD and its Constituents
- You should not use calcium acetate if you have high levels of calcium in your blood.
- You should not use calcium acetate if you are allergic to it.
- Do not give this medicine to a child without medical advice.Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
- Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results.
- Take this medicine with each meal.
- You may need to keep a food diary to measure how much calcium you are getting in your diet.
- You may need frequent medical tests to help your doctor determine how long to treat you with calcium acetate.
- Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
- Do not take additional calcium supplements.
- Avoid using antacids without your doctor’s advice. Use only the specific type of antacid your doctor recommends.
- Avoid taking an antibiotic such as ciprofloxacin, moxifloxacin, or levofloxacin within 2 hours before or 6 hours after you take calcium acetate.Avoid taking an antibiotic such as doxycycline, minocycline, or tetracycline within 1 hour before you take calcium acetate.
- Avoid taking levothyroxine within 4 hours before or 4 hours after you take calcium acetate.
- You should not use carbonyl iron if you are allergic to it.
- Carbonyl iron tablets may contain milk. Tell your doctor if you have lactose intolerance or a milk allergy.Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
- Carbonyl iron may be taken with food if it upsets your stomach.
- The chewable tablet must be chewed before you swallow it.
- Shake the oral suspension well just before you measure a dose. Measure liquid medicine with the dosing syringe provided, or with a special dose-measuring spoon or medicine cup. If you do not have a dose-measuring device, ask your pharmacist for one.
- Do not take carbonyl iron for longer than 6 months without your doctor’s advice.
- Do not take a double dose.
- Avoid taking carbonyl iron within 2 hours before or 2 hours after you take other medicines.
- Do not take this medication if you have too much iron builds, iron overload disorder, hemolytic anemia.
- Chewable tablets of this medicine may contain aspartame. If you have phenylketonuria or any other condition that requires you to restrict your intake of aspartame consult your doctor or pharmacist about using this drug safely.
- Liquid preparations of this product may contain sugar and/or alcohol. Caution is advised if you have diabetes, alcohol dependence, or liver disease.

CALCIUM ACETATE over-dosage can result in: Loss Of Appetite, Confusion, Nausea, VomitCARBONYL IRON over-dosage can result in: Bloody Or Red Colored Stools, Fever, Vomit, Abdomen Pain, Pale Skin, Slow Or Irregular Breathing, Rapid Heart Rate (pulse), Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs), Fingers Blue Colored Skin
