MEPRATE 10MG TAB is composed of: MEDROXYPROGESTERONE (10 MG)

Medroxyprogesterone is used to treat conditions such as absent or irregular menstrual periods, or abnormal uterine bleeding. Medroxyprogesterone is also used to decrease the risk of endometrial hyperplasia (a condition that may lead to uterine cancer) while taking estrogens. It is also used to prevent an overgrowth of the lining of the uterus in women taking estrogen who have gone through menopause. Medroxyprogesterone works by replacing progesterone hormone that the body is unable to make.

Precautions for MEPRATE 10MG TAB and its Constituents


  • It may cause drowsiness or dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
  • Avoid exposure to sunlight, otherwise it may cause dark skin patches.
  • It may affect blood sugar level, monitor sugar level regularly.
  • Before using medroxyprogesterone, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.
  • Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of stroke or other blood clots, personal/family history of breast cancer, abnormal breast exam, cancer of the cervix, abnormal/unexplained vaginal bleeding, liver disease, depression, frequent use of alcohol/tobacco, asthma, diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, migraine, seizures, personal/family history of bone disease (such as osteoporosis).
  • Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist about all of the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drug, and herbal products).
  • During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
  • This drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
