Overview
METZINE 0.25%/1% GEL is a Schedule H antibiotic.METZINE 0.25%/1% GEL is composed of: METRONIDAZOLE (1.0 %), CHLORHEXIDINE (0.25 %)
Metronidazole is an antibiotic. It kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Metronidazole is used in the treatment of bacterial infections and parasitic infections. It is used in infections of the brain, reproductive system, gastrointestinal tract, skin, vagina, and other areas of the body.
Chlorhexidine is an antiseptic that fights bacteria. Chlorhexidine topical (for the skin) is used to clean the skin to prevent infection that may be caused by surgery, injection or skin injury.

Caution should be exercised in patients with
Avoid getting this medicine in your eyes, ears, nose, mouth, rectum, or vagina. If this does happen, rinse with water. Avoid using other medicines on the areas you treat with chlorhexidine topical unless your doctor tells you to. Avoid getting this medicine on your clothing or other fabrics.
Symptoms of Overdosage
METRONIDAZOLE over-dosage can result in: Nausea, Vomit, Dizziness, Loss Of Balance, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs)Common Side-Effects
METRONIDAZOLE : Skin Rash, Hives, Agitation, Back Pain, Eyes Blurred Vision, Confusion, Dizziness, Drowsiness, Eyes Pain, Fever, Head Headache, Loss Of Coordination, Nausea, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs), Slurred Speech, Vomit, Black (tar) Colored Stools, Blood Or Red Colored Urine, Nasal Congestion, Runny NoseSerious Side-Effects
