Levofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that fights bacteria in the body.It works by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing the bacteria.This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections. Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections.
Metronidazole is an antibiotic. It kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Metronidazole is used in the treatment of bacterial infections and parasitic infections. It is used in infections of the brain, reproductive system, gastrointestinal tract, skin, vagina, and other areas of the body.

Precautions for MLEVO M SUSP and its Constituents
- You should not use levofloxacin if you are allergic to levofloxacin or other fluoroquinolones. Do not give this medicine to a child without medical advice.
- Follow all directions on your prescription label.
- Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
- Take levofloxacin with water, at the same time each day.
- Drink extra fluids to keep your kidneys working properly while taking this medicine.
- You may take levofloxacin tablets with or without food.
- Take levofloxacin oral solution (liquid) on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal.
- Measure liquid medicine with the dosing syringe provided, or with a special dose-measuring spoon or medicine cup.
- Do not share this medication with another person (especially a child), even if they have the same symptoms you have.
- Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.This medication may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert.
- Antibiotic medicines can cause diarrhea, which may be a sign of a new infection. If you have diarrhea that is watery or bloody, call your doctor.
- Do not use anti-diarrhea medicine unless your doctor tells you to.
- Avoid exposure to sunlight or tanning beds. Levofloxacin can make you sunburn more easily. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen when you are outdoors.
- Call your doctor if you have severe burning, redness, itching, rash, or swelling after being in the sun.
- Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
- Notify your doctor if you feel pain in your tendons, numbness, or tingling sensations.
- Levofloxacin may cause live bacterial vaccines to not work as well,Do not have any immunizations/vaccinations while using this medication.
