MTPROST KIT is composed of: MIFEPRISTONE (200.0 MG), MISOPROSTOL (200.0 MG)

Mifepristone blocks the effects of progesterone, a natural female hormone which is needed for the pregnancy to sustain. Without this hormone, the lining of the uterus (womb) breaks down as it does during a menstrual period and stops the growth of the pregnancy. Mifepristone is used in medical abortion. it is used in the treatment of Cushing’s syndrome and type 2 diabetes.

Misoprostol increases contractions of the uterus to cause abortion. It can also prevent post-delivery bleeding due to poor contraction of the uterus. Misoprostol is used in medical abortion and post-delivery bleeding. Misoprostol reduces stomach acid and helps protect the stomach from damage that can be caused by taking a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) such as aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen (Aleve), celecoxib, diclofenac, indomethacin, meloxicam, and others. Misoprostol is used to prevent stomach ulcers during treatment with aspirin or an NSAID.

Precautions for MTPROST KIT and its Constituents

Patients with diabetes, high blood pressure and porphyria should also inform their doctor about their illness prior to taking this medication.

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of low blood pressure, which may lead to severe complications e.g. brain or heart disease, inflammatory bowel disease and kidney impairment, elderly, children. It may lead to dehydration, drink adequate water.
