It works by narrowing swollen blood vessels in the eyes to reduce eye redness.Tetrahydrozoline ophthalmic is for temporary relief of minor eye redness, swelling, or draining caused by minor irritants.Some brands of tetrahydrozoline eye drops may contain lubricants. Lubricants help protect the eyes from more irritation and dryness.

Precautions for OPTIHIST PLUS EYE DPS and its Constituents
- Avoid excess dosage.
- Avoid long-term use of this medication.

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of asthma, lung disease, heart problems, high blood pressure, sugar, blood vessel problems, stroke, increased eye pressure, intestinal blockage, ulcer, urinary obstruction, enlarged prostate, seizures, overactive thyroid, any allergy, who are taking other medications, elderly, children, during pregnancy and
breast feeding .
- You should not take sodium chloride if you have ever had an allergic reaction to it, or if you have high sodium levels in your blood.
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
- Do not take in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
- Follow the directions on your prescription label.Take sodium chloride with a full glass (8 ounces) of water.
- Do not share this medication with another person, even if they have the same symptoms you have.
- Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
- Avoid becoming overheated or dehydrated during exercise and in hot weather.
- Follow your doctor’s instructions about the type and amount of liquids you should drink.In some cases, drinking too much liquid can be as unsafe as not drinking enough.Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.
- Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
- Make sure to use within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
- You should not use tetrahydrozoline ophthalmic if you are allergic to it.
- Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor.
- Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.Using the medication too long or too often may worsen your symptoms and cause damage to the blood vessels in your eyes.
- Wash your hands before using the eye drops.
- Do not touch the tip of the eye dropper or place it directly on your eye. A contaminated dropper can infect your eye, which could lead to serious vision problems.
- Do not use the eye drops if the liquid has changed colors or has particles in it.
- Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.Do not use this medication while wearing contact lenses. Tetrahydrozoline ophthalmic may contain a preservative that can discolor soft contact lenses.
- Wait at least 15 minutes after using this medicine before putting in your contact lenses.It may cause drowsiness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
- It may affect blood sugar level; monitor sugar level regularly while taking this medication.

SODIUM CHLORIDE over-dosage can result in: Nausea, Vomit, Abdomen Stomach Cramps, Irregular Heartbeat, Weakness (generalized), Hands Swelling, Feet Swelling, Shortness Of Breath, Slow Or Irregular Breathing, Restless Or Irritability, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs)TETRAHYDROZOLINE over-dosage can result in: Drowsiness, Body Excessive Sweating, Slow Or Irregular Breathing
