PIRFENEX 200MG TAB is a Schedule H drug.PIRFENEX 200MG TAB is composed of: PIRFENIDONE (200 MG)
Pirfenidone is prescribed for treating idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis which is a severe irreversible disease marked by a progressive decline in lung function. The scarring of lungs is caused by some unknown origin.Pirfenidone helps to reduce fibrosis (scarring) and swelling in the lungs.
Usage

How Do I Take It?
PIRFENEX 200MG TAB is generally taken With Food.Precautions for PIRFENEX 200MG TAB and its Constituents
- You should not use pirfenidone if you are allergic to it.
- Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not use this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
- Take pirfenidone with food at the same time each day.
- Pirfenidone is usually taken 3 times per day.
- You should not take more than 3 doses per day.
- You must follow this first-2-week "dose escalation" schedule when you start taking pirfenidone.
- You may need frequent medical tests to be sure pirfenidone is not causing harmful effects on your liver.
- Your next few doses may be delayed or reduced based on the results of these tests.
- Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
- Avoid exposure to sunlight or tanning beds. Pirfenidone can make you sunburn more easily. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen Tell your doctor if you are also using antibiotic medicine, which can also make you more sensitive to sunlight.
- Avoid smoking while taking this medicine. Smoking could make pirfenidone less effective.
- Do not take pirfenidone if you are currently taking any other medicine such as tetracycline antibiotics, as they can make you more photo sensitive.

Do not take pirfenidone if you are currently taking any other medicine such as fluvoxamine, it should be discontinued prior to the initiation of pirfenidone therapy and avoided during pirfenidone therapy.

PIRFENIDONE : Diarrhoea, Indigestion, Skin Rash, Itchy Skin, Nausea, Vomit, Loss Of Appetite, Abdomen Pain, Abdomen Upset Stomach, Head Headache, Dizziness, Fatigue (tiredness), Weight Loss (unintentional), Sneezing, Throat Soreness, Runny Nose, Difficulty Sleeping, Body Pain, Eyes PainSerious Side-Effects
PIRFENIDONE : Dyspepsia, Upper Respiratory Tract Infections, Muscle Pain, Joint Pain, Insomnia, Sunburn, Body Discoloration, Abdomen Discomfort, Decreased Taste, Increased Sensitivity To Heat, Eyes Yellow Eyes, Dark Colored (brown) UrineFood Interactions
You should avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking pirfenidone, as it may increase blood levels of the medication and lead to more side effects.
