Overview
PROCADAX 90MG SYP is a Schedule H1 antibiotic.PROCADAX 90MG SYP is composed of: CEFTIBUTEN (90.0 MG)
Ceftibuten is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as cephalosporin antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections. The oral suspension should be taken 2 hours before a meal or at least 1 hour after a meal. Common side effects of ceftibuten include nausea, headache, diarrhea, and upset stomach. Ceftibuten can also cause dizziness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how ceftibuten affects you.

Precautions for PROCADAX 90MG SYP and its Constituents
- Before taking ceftibuten, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it or to other antibiotics (such as penicillins, other cephalosporins) or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.
- Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of kidney disease, stomach/intestinal disease (such as colitis).
- This medication contains sugar. Caution is advised if you have diabetes.
- Ceftibuten may cause live bacterial vaccines (such as typhoid vaccine) to not work as well. Do not have any immunizations/vaccinations while using this medication unless your doctor tells you to.
- Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products).
- During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
- It is unknown if this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
