Overview

PROCARTIL TAB is an Over-the-counter (OTC) drug.

PROCARTIL TAB is composed of: GLUCOSAMINE (500 MG), IBUPROFEN (200 MG)

Glucosamine is sugar protein that helps your body build cartilage (the hard connective tissue located mainly on the bones near your joints). Glucosamine is a naturally occurring substance found in bones, bone marrow, shellfish and fungus. Glucosamine has been used in alternative medicine as an aid to relieving joint pain, swelling, and stiffness caused by arthritis.


Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. Ibuprofen is used to reduce fever and treat pain or inflammation caused by many conditions such as a headache, toothache, back pain, arthritis, menstrual cramps, or minor injury. This medicine can be used in children and adolescents of all ages.

Precautions for PROCARTIL TAB and its Constituents


Caution should be exercised in patients with history of diabetics, any allergy, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It may cause drowsiness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. It may affect blood sugar level; monitor sugar level regularly while taking this medication.
Caution should be exercised in patients with high blood pressure, blood disorders, bleeding problem, heart disease, blood vessel disease, asthma, nose polyps, kidney or liver disease, diabetes, dehydration, alcohol abuse, any allergy, who are taking other medications, elderly, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It may cause dizziness or drowsiness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. It may cause stomach bleeding or ulcer; if it so consult with your doctor. Avoid alcohol consumption.

Symptoms of Overdosage

IBUPROFEN over-dosage can result in: Nausea, Vomit, Abdomen Pain, Drowsiness, Black (tar) Colored Stools, Bloody Or Red Colored Stools, Slow Or Irregular Breathing, Fainting
