RECOFAST PLUS SYR is a Schedule H drug.

RECOFAST PLUS SYR is composed of: PARACETAMOL (25 MG/ML), PHENYLEPHRINE (5 MG), TRIPROLIDINE (0.625 MG)

Paracetamol is a pain reliever and a fever reducer. The exact mechanism of action of is not known. Paracetamol is used to treat many conditions such as a headache, muscle aches, arthritis, backache, toothaches, colds, and fevers. It relieves pain in mild arthritis but has no effect on the underlying inflammation and swelling of the joint.

Phenylephrine is a decongestant that shrinks blood vessels in the nasal passages. Dilated blood vessels can cause nasal congestion (stuffy nose). Phenylephrine is used to treat nasal and sinus congestion or congestion of the tubes that drain fluid from your inner ears called the eustachian (yoo-STAY-shun) tubes.

Triprolidine is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, runny nose,hives, skin rash and other cold or allergy symptoms.

Precautions for RECOFAST PLUS SYR and its Constituents


Caution should be exercised in patients with history of asthma, bleeding problems, growths in the nose, heart, kidney or liver disease, liver inflammation, high blood pressure, chickenpox, anxiety, trouble in sleeping, ulcers, stomach problems, stroke, Kawasaki syndrome, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol consumption. It should not be used in children with infections such as flu, chickenpox or viral infections. Avoid large amount of caffeinated beverages while taking this medication. It may reduce platelet counts; avoid injury or bruising.
Do not give phenylephrine containing products to children younger than 4 years of age. It may cause serious side effects or cause of death in children. Do not use this medication for longer duration, it may cause rebound congestion in prolonged or excessive use of nasal or eye drops. Caution should be exercised in patients with history of severe increase in thyroid hormone, severe heart disease, diabetes, prostate enlargement, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Caution should be exercised in patients with history of increased eye pressure, urinary retention, enlargement of prostate, pyloric obstruction (disorder), epilepsy, children less than 6 years, elderly, during pregnancy. It may cause drowsiness, dizziness or blurred vision, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. Drinking alcohol can increase certain side effects of triprolidine.

Symptoms of Overdosage

PARACETAMOL over-dosage can result in: Loss Of Appetite, Nausea, Vomit, Abdomen Pain, Weakness (generalized), Upper Abdomen Pain, Dark Colored (brown) Urine, Eyes Yellow Eyes

PHENYLEPHRINE : Hives, Skin Rash, Blood Pressure, High, Body Itching, Irregular Heartbeat, Difficulty Sleeping, Eyes Blurred Vision, Chest Discomfort, Wheezing, Shortness Of Breath, Nervousness, Head Headache, Restless Or Irritability, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs)
TRIPROLIDINE : Drowsiness, Dizziness, Head Headache, Nausea, Vomit, Loss Of Appetite, Abdomen Upset Stomach, Constipation, Eyes Blurred Vision, Loss Of Coordination, Dry Mouth

TRIPROLIDINE : Mood Swings, Hallucinations, Nervousness, Restless Or Irritability, Ringing In Ears, Difficulty Urinating, Easy Bruising, Irregular Heartbeat, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs)
