Cefprozil is a cephalosporin antibiotic, used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria, such as bronchitis and infections of the ears, throat, sinuses, and skin. It kills the bacterial cells. Finish taking all of your medication. Even if you feel better, do not stop taking medication unless your doctor tells you to stop. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Cefprozil may cause dizziness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how it affects you.

Precautions for REFZIL-O 500MG FC-TAB and its Constituents

• Cefprozil can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
• Before taking cefprozil, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it or to penicillins or other cephalosporin antibiotics (e.g., cephalexin) or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.
• Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of kidney disease, intestinal disease (colitis).
• This drug may make you dizzy. Alcohol can make you more dizzy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs alertness until you can do it safely. Limit alcoholic beverages.
• Cefprozil may cause live bacterial vaccines (such as typhoid vaccine) to not work as well. Do not have any immunizations/vaccinations while using this medication unless your doctor tells you to.
• This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risk and benefits with your doctor.
