This lowers blood pressure and allows blood to flow more easily through your veins and arteries.It increases the pumping strength of the heart.It is mixed with dextrose, a type of sugar, before it is given. If you have high blood sugar (diabetes) or have low blood sugar, tell your doctor.

  • The medicine cannot be given to children in case of an unstable heart rhythm and blood pressure.
  • Consult your doctor if you are taking digoxin, diuretics,medications used to treat high blood pressure or chest pain (angina).Take precautions while using milrinone as it may decrease blood pressure (hypotension).
  • Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
