RIBUTIN 150MG CAP is a Schedule H antibiotic.RIBUTIN 150MG CAP is composed of: RIFABUTIN (150.0 MG)
This medication is used alone or with another medication to help prevent a certain serious infection. Rifabutin is known as a rifamycin antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.This antibiotic treats and prevents only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Unnecessary use or misuse of any antibiotic can lead to its decreased effectiveness.

RIFABUTIN is generally used to treat: Mycobacterium Avium Complex, TuberculosisRIFABUTIN can address symptoms like: Cough, Loss Of Appetite, Night Sweats, Shortness Of Breath, Fatigue (tiredness), Fever

Precautions for RIBUTIN 150MG CAP and its Constituents
- You should not use rifabutin if you have active tuberculosis, or if you are also taking delavirdine or voriconazole.
- You should not use rifabutin if you are allergic to it.Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
- Rifabutin may be taken with food if it upsets your stomach.
- While using rifabutin, you may need frequent blood tests and chest x-rays.
- Use this medicine for the full prescribed length of time.
- Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
- Avoid wearing dentures or contact lenses. Rifabutin may cause certain body fluids to turn red, orange, or brown. This includes tears and saliva.
- Antibiotic medicines can cause diarrhea, which may be a sign of a new infection.
- If you have diarrhea that is watery or bloody, call your doctor. Do not use anti-diarrhea medicine unless your doctor tells you to.
- Rifabutin may cause live bacterial vaccines to not work as well.
- Do not have any immunizations/vaccinations while using this medication unless your doctor tells you to.Y
- ou may also undergo regular eye examination while using rifabutin.
