RICOVIR L 300MG/300MG TAB is composed of: LAMIVUDINE (300.0 MG), TENOFOVIR (300.0 MG)

Lamivudine is an antiviral medication. It prevents the multiplication of the virus in human cells. This stops the virus from producing new viruses and clears up your infection. Lamivudine is used in the treatment of HIV infection and chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection.

Tenofovir is used to treat chronic hepatitis B infection, a viral infection of the liver. It works by stopping or slowing the growth of the virus. Chronic hepatitis infection can lead to serious liver damage (cirrhosis) and liver cancer. This medication is a class of antiretroviral agent, prescribed for HIV infection in combination with other medicines, and chronic hepatitis B in adults. Tenofovir is used to treat HIV, the virus that can cause acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Tenofovir is not a cure for HIV or AIDS.

Precautions for RICOVIR L 300MG/300MG TAB and its Constituents


Caution should be exercised in patients with history of hepatitis B, kidney disease, pancreas disease, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.  It may cause drowsiness or dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. Avoid alcohol consumption. It should not be used in children less than 2 years old. It may affect blood sugar level; monitor sugar level regularly while taking this medication. Do not have unprotected sex or share razors or toothbrushes. Talk with your doctor about safe ways to prevent HIV transmission during sex. Sharing drug or medicine needles is never safe, even for a healthy person.



  • Some forms of tenofovir should be taken with food. Carefully follow all instructions on your medicine label.
  • Avoid drinking alcohol. It may increase your risk of liver damage.
  • Caution should be exercised in patients with history of liver problems, including HBV infection, bone problems or kidney problems, any allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • It may cause dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
  • It does not stop the spread of HIV or HBV to others through blood or sexual contact.
  • Before taking tenofovir alafenamide, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.
  • Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products).
  • During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
  • It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
