SOBIT O SYP is composed of: SUCRALFATE (100 MG/ML), OXYTOCIN (5 IU)


Oxytocin is a natural hormone that causes the uterus to contract.Oxytocin is used to induce labor or strengthen labor contractions during childbirth, and to control bleeding after childbirth. Oxytocin is also used to stimulate uterine contractions in a woman with an incomplete or threatened miscarriage.It is also used to help abort the fetus in cases of incomplete abortion.It may be used for breast engorgement.

Precautions



  • You should not receive oxytocin if you have ever had an allergic reaction to oxytocin.
  • Oxytocin is injected into a vein through an IV.
  • You will receive this injection in a hospital setting.
  • Follow your doctor’s instructions about any restrictions on food, beverages, or activity.Stop the drug immediately if the uterus contracts excessively or the fetus is in distress.
  • Intra muscular administration is not regularly used due to unpredictable effects of this medication.
  • Do not use it for prolonged periods in resistant uterine inertia, severe pre-eclampsia (hypertension), or severe CV disorders, hyper hydration.
  • Monitor neonates and mother’s heart rate, maternal BP and uterine motility, fluid intake and output during treatment.

OXYTOCIN over-dosage can result in: Drowsiness, Restless Or Irritability, Slurred Speech

Common Side-Effects

OXYTOCIN : Pain, Nausea, Vomit, Memory Problems, Runny Nose, Restless Or Irritability, Rapid Heart Rate (pulse)

Serious Side-Effects

OXYTOCIN : Neonatal Jaundice, Seizure, Blood Pressure, Low, Abnormal Uterine Bleeding, Slow Heart Rate (pulse)

Rare Side-Effects

OXYTOCIN : Skin Rash, Itchy Skin, Hives, Confusion, Difficulty Breathing, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs), Dizziness, Irregular Heartbeat, Head Headache, Pelvis Pain, Abdomen Pain, Weakness (generalized), Weight Gain, Vagina Bleeding
