Nevirapine is an antiviral medicine that prevents human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) from multiplying in your body. Nevirapine is used to treat HIV, the virus that can cause acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Nevirapine is not a cure for HIV or AIDS, and should not be used to prevent HIV. Nevirapine oral solution (liquid) is for use in adults and children as young as 15 days old. Nevirapine extended-release tablets are for use in adults and children who are at least 6 years old.

Lamivudine is an antiviral medication. It prevents the multiplication of the virus in human cells. This stops the virus from producing new viruses and clears up your infection. Lamivudine is used in the treatment of HIV infection and chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection.

Stavudine is an antiviral medicine that prevents human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) from multiplying in your body. Stavudine is used to treat HIV, the virus that can cause acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).

Precautions for STAVEX LN 150MG/30MG/200MG TAB and its Constituents

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of kidney disease, liver impairment, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Patient may develop with increased risk of liver damage, serious life threatening allergic reactions, if it is so consult with your doctor. It may affect the effectiveness of oral contraceptives; consult with your doctor for other methods to prevent pregnancy while taking this medication. It may lead to redistribution/accumulation of body fat in many parts of body. Avoid drinking alcohol. It may increase your risk of liver damage.
Caution should be exercised in patients with history of hepatitis B, kidney disease, pancreas disease, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.  It may cause drowsiness or dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. Avoid alcohol consumption. It should not be used in children less than 2 years old. It may affect blood sugar level; monitor sugar level regularly while taking this medication. Do not have unprotected sex or share razors or toothbrushes. Talk with your doctor about safe ways to prevent HIV transmission during sex. Sharing drug or medicine needles is never safe, even for a healthy person.
Caution should be exercised in patients with history of liver or kidney disease, sugar, elderly, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Monitor patients for development of peripheral neuropathy. Redistribution/accumulation of body fat including central obesity may occur. Avoid excess dosage. Avoid drinking alcohol. It may increase your risk of pancreas or liver damage.
