This medication is an analgesic, prescribed for moderate to severe acute pain. It works by changing the way the body responds to pain. Tapentadol decreases the perception of pain by blocking the transmission of pain signals to the brain.


Paracetamol is a pain reliever and a fever reducer. The exact mechanism of action of is not known. Paracetamol is used to treat many conditions such as a headache, muscle aches, arthritis, backache, toothaches, colds, and fevers. It relieves pain in mild arthritis but has no effect on the underlying inflammation and swelling of the joint.

Precautions for TAPFREE 100 TAB ER and its Constituents


  • Do not use tapentadol if you have used a MAO inhibitor in the past 14 days.
  • You should not use this medicine if you have severe breathing problems, or a bowel obstruction.
  • You should not use this medication if you are allergic to tapentadol.
  • Tapentadol may be habit forming. Never share this medicine with another person, especially someone with a history of drug abuse or addiction.
  • Do not give this medicine to a child.Take tapentadol exactly as prescribed. Follow all directions on your prescription label.
  • Tapentadol can slow or stop your breathing, especially when you start using this medicine or whenever your dose is changed.
  • Never take tapentadol in larger amounts, or for longer than prescribed. Tell your doctor if the medicine seems to stop working as well in relieving your pain.
  • Take this medicine with a full glass of waterDo not crush, break, or open an extended-release pill. Swallow it whole to avoid exposure to a potentially fatal dose.
  • Tapentadol can cause constipation. Talk to your doctor before using a laxative or stool softener to treat or prevent this side effect.
  • While using this medicine, you may need frequent blood tests.
  • Do not stop using this medicine suddenly, or you could have unpleasant withdrawal symptoms.
  • Never crush or break a tapentadol pill to inhale the powder or mix it into a liquid to inject the drug into your vein.
  • Do not take extra medicine to make up a missed dose.
  • This medication may impair your thinking or reactions. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how tapentadol will affect you.

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of asthma, bleeding problems, growths in the nose, heart, kidney or liver disease, liver inflammation, high blood pressure, chickenpox, anxiety, trouble in sleeping, ulcers, stomach problems, stroke, Kawasaki syndrome, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol consumption. It should not be used in children with infections such as flu, chickenpox or viral infections. Avoid large amount of caffeinated beverages while taking this medication. It may reduce platelet counts; avoid injury or bruising.
