TONACT-EZ 10MG TAB is a Schedule H drug.

TONACT-EZ 10MG TAB is composed of: ATORVASTATIN (10 MG), EZETIMIBE (10 MG)

Atorvastatin (Lipitor) is a member of the drug class known as statins. It is used for lowering cholesterol. Atorvastatin is a competitive inhibitor of hydroxymethylglutaryl-coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase.Atorvastatin acts primarily in the liver. Decreased hepatic cholesterol levels increases hepatic uptake of cholesterol and reduces plasma cholesterol levels.Atorvastatin is used to treat high cholesterol, and to lower the risk of stroke, heart attack, or other heart complications in people with type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, or other risk factors.
Ezetimibe reduces the amount of cholesterol absorbed by the body. Ezetimibe is used to treat high cholesterol.

Precautions for TONACT-EZ 10MG TAB and its Constituents

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of Crohn’s disease, bruising, heart, liver or kidney disease, gastrointestinal disease, blood clotting problems, systemic lupus erythematosus, elderly, during pregnancy, alcohol-dependent patients, and breastfeeding. It may cause dizziness or drowsiness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
You should not take ezetimibe with a statin medication if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: liver disease.

Symptoms of Overdosage

EZETIMIBE over-dosage can result in: Difficulty Breathing

ATORVASTATIN : Polyarthralgia, Urinary Tract Infection, Insomnia, Myalgia, Skin Rash, Hives, Nausea, Loose Motion, Body Muscle Cramps Or Spasms (painful), Cough, Difficulty Swallowing, Dizziness, Rapid Heart Rate (pulse), Fever, Wheezing, Tightness
EZETIMIBE : Upper Respiratory Tract Infections, Arms Joint Pain, Loose Motion, Abdomen Pain, Nausea, Vomit, Dark Colored (brown) Urine, Fatigue (tiredness), Weakness (generalized)
