VALOFLAM TZ 10MG/2MG TAB is a Schedule H drug.

VALOFLAM TZ 10MG/2MG TAB is composed of: VALDECOXIB (10.0 MG), TIZANIDINE (2.0 MG)

This medication is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), prescribed for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and painful menstruation and menstrual symptoms.  It works by reducing substances in the body that cause inflammation. 
Tizanidine is a short-acting muscle relaxer. It works by blocking nerve impulses (pain sensations) that are sent to your brain. Tizanidine is used to treat spasticity by temporarily relaxing muscle tone.

Usage

VALDECOXIB is generally used to treat: Rheumatoid Arthritis, Dysmenorrhea, Osteoarthritis

TIZANIDINE is generally used to treat: Spasticity

Precautions


  • Caution should be exercised in patients with history of ulcer, GI bleeding, dehydration, high blood pressure, heart failure, fluid retention, liver or kidney disease, any allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • Monitor hemoglobin level regularly while taking this medication.
  • Avoid co-administration with ketoconazole or fluconazole.
  • Avoid excess dosage. 

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of prolonged QT interval, liver or kidney disease, children, elderly, pregnancy and breastfeeding. Monitor LFT(Liver Function test) regularly. Stop treatment if liver enzymes are raised persistently greater than 3 times upper limit of normal range. Avoid abrupt withdrawal of therapy. It may make you drowsy. Do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.

Symptoms of Overdosage

VALDECOXIB over-dosage can result in: Drowsiness, Nausea, Vomit, Epigastric Pain
TIZANIDINE over-dosage can result in: Weakness (generalized), Drowsiness, Confusion, Slow Heart Rate (pulse), Slow Or Irregular Breathing, Lightheadedness, Fainting

Common Side-Effects

VALDECOXIB : Chills, Pain With Urination, Dizziness, Fever, Nausea, Nervousness, Pale Skin, Weight Gain, Abdomen Pain, Fatigue (tiredness), Weakness (generalized), Vomit, Eyes Yellow Eyes
TIZANIDINE : Dry Mouth, Constipation, Fatigue (tiredness)

Serious Side-Effects

VALDECOXIB : Eyes Blurred Vision, Blood Or Red Colored Urine, Bloody Or Red Colored Stools
TIZANIDINE : Irregular Heartbeat, Hallucinations, Eyes Blurred Vision

Rare Side-Effects

TIZANIDINE : Skin Rash, Difficulty Breathing, Face Swelling, Body Itching

TIZANIDINE can interfere with: Acute Liver Failure, Hypotension, Acute Renal Failure, Psychosis
