VORICORT TAB is composed of: VORICONAZOLE (200 MG)

Voriconazole is an antifungal medicine.Voriconazole is used to treat infections caused by yeast or other types of fungus.It works by slowing the growth of the fungi that cause infection. It kills fungi by destroying the fungal cell membrane. This treats your infection.

How Do I Take It?

VORICORT TAB is generally taken Before Food.

Precautions


  • You should not take voriconazole if you are allergic to it.
  • Do not use voriconazole if you are pregnant.
  • Follow all directions on your prescription label.
  • Do not use this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
  • Do not give yourself this medicine if you do not understand how to use the injection and properly dispose of needles, IV tubing, and other items used.
  • Injectable voriconazole is a powder medicine that must be mixed with a liquid  before using it. Take voriconazole tablets or liquid at least 1 hour before or 1 hour after eating a meal.
  • Shake the oral suspension well just before you measure a dose.
  • Measure liquid medicine with the dosing syringe provided, or with a special dose-measuring spoon or medicine cup.
  • Do not mix voriconazole liquid with any other medicine or liquid.
  • Voriconazole will not treat a viral infection such as the flu or a common cold.
  • While using voriconazole, you may need frequent blood tests.
  • Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
  • Voriconazole may cause vision changes such as blurred vision and sensitivity to light.
  • Wear sunglasses during the day to protect your eyes from bright light.
  • Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert and able to see clearly.
  • Avoid exposure to sunlight or tanning beds. Voriconazole can make you more sensitive to sunlight or cause a serious skin reaction, including lesions that may lead to skin cancer.
  • Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen.
  • Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.

Common Side-Effects

VORICONAZOLE : Skin Rash, Itchy Skin, Diarrhoea, Muscle Pain, Muscle Cramp, Head Headache, Hallucinations, Eyes Change In Vision, Nausea, Vomit, Rapid Heart Rate (pulse), Abdomen Bloating Or Fullness, Eyes Blurred Vision, Chills, Confusion, Dark Colored (brown) Urine, Decreased Urination, Dizziness, Dry Mouth, Lightheadedness, Fever, Increased Thirst, Pounding Heart (pulse), Nervousness, Hands Tingling, Feet Tingling, Ear Pounding, Weight Gain, Abdomen Pain, Fatigue (tiredness)

Serious Side-Effects

VORICONAZOLE : Vision Problems, Eyes Sensitive To Light, Eyes Decreased Night Vision, Bad Breath, Body Excessive Sweating, Eyes Yellow Eyes, Bloody Or Red Colored Vomit, Eyes Blurred Vision, Eyes Pain, Joint Pain, Irregular Heartbeat, Fainting

Rare Side-Effects

VORICONAZOLE : Acute Liver Failure, Sunburn, Agitation, Restless Or Irritability, Body Discoloration, Hallucinations, Loss Of Appetite
