ZAXYBEN 50MG INJ is composed of: PHENOXYBENZAMINE (50.0 MG)

Phenoxybenzamine is an alpha blocker which helps reduce blood pressure in pheochromocytoma (a tumor of the adrenal gland). It works by opposing the action of certain hormones released from the tumor that cause the blood vessels to narrow and raise blood pressure. Phenoxybenzamine is used to control blood pressure and reduce sweating in people with pheochromocytoma.

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of heart, brain, kidney problems, irregular heartbeat, respiratory tract infection, cancer, who are taking other medications, any allergy, elderly, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It may cause drowsiness, lightheadedness, or dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. Avoid alcohol consumption.

PHENOXYBENZAMINE over-dosage can result in: Rapid Heart Rate (pulse), Vomit, Dizziness, Fainting
