ELVITEGRAVIR is a Schedule H drug.Elvitegravir treats HIV infection. Take this medication with food and do not miss any doses.Missing doses can make it harder to treat HIV. This medication comes in tablet form and is taken once daily, with food. Elvitegravir must be given with a protease inhibitor, ritonavir, and with another antiretroviral drug.it helps to decrease the amount of HIV in your body so your immune system can work better. This lowers your chance of getting HIV complications (such as new infections, cancer) and improves your quality of life.

Precautions
- This medicine is not a cure for HIV. Stay under the care of your doctor.
- If you are also taking didanosine, take it at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after elvitegravir.
- Do not take antacids within 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking elvitegravir.
- To gain the most benefit, do not miss doses.
- Avoid doing things that can spread HIV-1 infection to others.
- Do not share or re-use needles or other injection equipment.
- Do not share personal items that can have blood or body fluids on them, like toothbrushes and razor blades.
- Do not have any kind of sex without protection. Always practice safer sex by using a latex or polyurethane condom to lower the chance of sexual contact with semen, vaginal secretions, or blood.
