ENFUVIRTIDE

Overview

ENFUVIRTIDE is a Schedule H drug.
Enfuvirtide is an antiviral medication that prevents human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) from infecting healthy cells in your body. Enfuvirtide is used to treat HIV, which causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Enfuvirtide is not a cure for HIV or AIDS. Enfuvirtide is usually given after other medications have been tried without successful treatment of HIV.

Route of Administration: IV (Intravenous)

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of blood clot or bleeding problems, smoking, lung disease, any allergy, during pregnancy and lactation. It may cause dizziness or drowsiness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.  Do not use contaminated fluid of this medication. Avoid sexual contact, sharing of needles to prevent the spread of infection. Patient may develop Immune Reconstitution Syndrome.

ENFUVIRTIDE over-dosage can result in: Difficulty Breathing

ENFUVIRTIDE : Cough, Head Headache, Shortness Of Breath, Runny Nose, Chest Pain, Tightness, Wheezing, Chills, Constipation, Dark Colored (brown) Urine, Eyes Itching, Rapid Heart Rate (pulse), Fever, Nausea, Vomit, Eyes Yellow Eyes

Rare Side-Effects

ENFUVIRTIDE : Difficulty Breathing, Rapid Heart Rate (pulse), Body Itching, Face Swelling
