Nelfinavir is an antiviral medicine that prevents human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) from multiplying in your body. Nelfinavir is used to treat HIV, the virus that can cause acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Nelfinavir is not a cure for HIV or AIDS.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of diabetes, liver disease, blood clot problems, elderly, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It may increase/decrease body fat, monitor cholesterol level regularly while taking this medication. It does not stop the spread of HIV to others; avoid sexual contact, sharing of needles, or injection supplies.
