TELITHROMYCIN is a Schedule H drug.This medication is a ketolide antibiotic, prescribed for bacterial infections. It works by killing the bacteria.This medication is a ketolide antibiotic used to treat a type of pneumonia caused by bacteria. It will not work for viral infections. Unnecessary use or overuse of any antibiotic can lead to its decreased effectiveness.

How Do I Take It?
Route of Administration: OralPrecautions
- You should not use Telithromycin,if you are allergic to it.
- Do not use longer than you have been told. A second infection may happen.
- Use telithromycin as ordered by your doctor.Swallow tablet whole. Do not chew, break, or crush.
- To gain the most benefit, do not miss doses.
- If you also take theophylline, take it at least 1 hour before or after telithromycin.
- Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. It may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, or vision problems, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking other medications.
- Do not take telithromycin if you have myasthenia gravis.
- Telithromycin may cause live bacterial vaccines to not work as well. Do not have any immunizations/vaccinations while using this medication.
