Overview
FOSFOMYCIN SODIUM is a Schedule H antibiotic.Fosfomycin is an antibiotic that fights infection caused by bacteria.It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering which is needed for their survival. It also reduces bacterial attachment to cells lining the bladder.It will not work for viral infections. Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections.Fosfomycin should not be used to treat infections outside the bladder
Usage

How Do I Take It?
Route of Administration: OralPrecautions
- You should not use fosfomycin if you are allergic to it.
- Do not share this medicine with another person, even if they have the same symptoms you have.
- Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
- Fosfomycin is usually given in only one dose.
- Do not take more than a single dose unless your doctor tells you to.
- Fosfomycin is a powder medicine that must be mixed with water before using it.
- Do not take the dry powder without adding water.Do not mix fosfomycin oral powder with hot water.
- It may take 2 or 3 days before your symptoms improve.
- Antibiotic medicines can cause diarrhea, which may be a sign of a new infection. If you have diarrhea that is watery or bloody, stop taking fosfomycin and call your doctor. Do not use anti-diarrhea medicine unless your doctor tells you to.
- Avoid alcohol and caffeinated drinks, and drink plenty of water when taking Fosfomycin.
- This product may contain sugar and/or aspartame. Caution is advised if you have diabetes, phenylketonuria, or any other condition that requires you to limit/avoid these substances in your diet.
- Fosfomycin may cause live bacterial vaccines to not work as well. Do not have any immunizations/vaccinations while using this medicatio.
